Having more than three grams of omega-3 fatty acids per day increases the risk of having hemorrhagic stroke which is manifested as a leakage in the brain due to rupture of an artery.

Having high blood pressure is very common in depressed individuals. Omega-3 fatty acids aid in maintaining blood pressure and in obtaining a faster relief from depression. Research studies have shown that people who include fish in their diet at least twice or thrice a week experience great relief from depression in a period of five years.

Lastly, apart from improving your depression these essential fatty acids help to improve other health conditions such as asthma, ADHD and certain types of cancers. By maintaining optimum cholesterol levels they save you from suffering with heart problems. The best of this sort of remedy for overcoming the effects of depression is that they are free of side effects that are associated with a number of antidepressants. Hi All, omega 3 are important fats for the optimal operation of the brain, where is located the highest concentrations of this fats.

By the contrary, omega 6 fats are not only pro inflammatory but we already have too much of them in our diets. We should try to reduce the omega 6 intake and increase the omega 3.
