Representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) in China, on Wednesday (03/16/2011), asserted that there was no evidence of radiation spread across the country from the Fukushima Nuclear Power in trouble in Japan.
"WHO wants to convince the government and society that until now there is no strong evidence that says that the nuclear radiation from nuclear power plants (NPP) in Japan extends to other countries," said Michael O'Leary, WHO representative to China said in a statement.
"Various rumors have spread through mobile phone short messages and other media that says that the cloud of harmful radiation was spreading throughout Asia due to damage to nuclear power plants in Japan," he added. "The government and members of the community should stop the rumors that are harmful to public morals this area," he wrote.
