Important Reasons Consuming Milk Every Day

In general, we often have the wrong assumption on the consumption of milk. Common assumption that there is drinking milk can cause obesity, but it turns out that assumption is wrong, and the results of some studies actually showed that people who drink milk more often able to maintain weight.

For some people, milk does not become a daily beverage for us. We only drink milk when we were babies, when pregnant, breastfeeding, and when we started to bone loss. In fact, if we have to get used to drinking milk during the childbearing age, we certainly would not have had time to experience bone loss. Do not forget, women are more susceptible to osteoporosis. When pregnant and lactating women, calcium in our bodies will be much absorbed by the baby so we need to increase intake of calcium.

The following are the main reasons why you should drink milk every day :

1. Helping maintain weight
This benefit will explain our assumptions about who's to say drinking milk make you gain weight? Results of some studies actually show that people who consume more dairy products will be more slim. Body fat levels were lower than those who rarely drank milk.

A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2009, states that people who drink milk without the fat will not feel hungry, so eat less at subsequent meals schedule. This does not occur in people who drank fruit juice.

So, if you want to keep your weight at a normal rate, choose low-fat milk (or nonfat). Only a glass of low fat milk contains 8 grams of fat.

2. The number one source of vitamin D
Vitamin D is not only essential for calcium absorption, but also improve the immune system, reduce the risk of some cancers, diabetes and multiple sclerosis, and ensuring better blood pressure. New research presented at the annual meeting of Experimental Biology, April 2010, showed that milk provides almost 43 percent of the vitamin D we get from food.

3. Helped to shape and strengthen muscles
A cup of milk contains 16 percent of daily intake for protein, which serves to build and repair muscle tissue. Several small-scale research conducted by the dairy companies have found that chocolate milk helps athletes to recover energy, even better than sports drinks. Milk chocolate contains a mixture of proteins and carbohydrates that the body needs to recover its energy supply after a heavy gym session.

4. Build bones and teeth
A cup of milk provides 30 percent of the daily requirement for calcium. This mineral helps build and maintain strong bones and teeth. Calcium is essential for bone formation in children and adolescents. He also helps build bone mass which gradually disappears as we age. To get calcium from other foods (with an equivalent amount), for example, you have to eat more than 7 cups of raw broccoli.
