Have You:

* Joined the gym,
* Hired a personal trainer,
* Improved your diet,
* Walked 10,000 steps every day, and
* Taken all the supplements and vitamins the diet books say you need...

and still you're fat, tired and stressed?

So, what's the matter?

Why aren't these tried and true methods working for you?

Quite possibly, the problem lies with your hormones being out of whack. Stress plays a big part in screwing up your metabolism by messing with your hormones.

Stress is so much in the news these days and most of us haven't a clue how it really is affecting us. It comes in many forms:

* from your demanding job,
* financial pressures,
* raising a family,
* emotional agony,
* problems in your relationships
* even lack of sleep.

The affect on your adrenal glands results in adrenal fatigue which can result in profound dysfunctions in the body like: fatigue, depression, suppressed immune system, moodiness and autoimmune disorders. These little but powerful endocrine glands sit on top of the kidneys like the Queen on her throne regulating how your body reacts to stress and keeping the body in balance.

The stress hormone Cortisol, a steroid hormone secreted by the adrenal glands, comes into play when stressful situations are a constant in your life. Understanding how cortisol works through the adrenal glands helps to put the pieces together in explaining your weight gain and fatigue.

Cortisol converts proteins into energy, releasing glycogen and counteracting inflammation. It helps in proper glucose metabolism, regulation of blood pressure, proper immune function, inflammatory response and regulating insulin release for blood sugar maintenance which all affects your weight.

When high levels of cortisol are maintained for long periods of time, due to stress, the adrenal glands become impaired and this affects not only cortisol production it also impairs the adrenals ability to produce and balance hormones like estrogen, DHEA, progesterone and testosterone.

Also, The effects of sustained high levels of cortisol work against us wrecking havoc weakening our immune function and metabolism. It will disrupt your digestion, destroy healthy muscle and bone tissue, slow down healing and normal cell regeneration.

If this is happening in your body it could be why you are so tired, always getting sick and can never get rid of the extra weight. The test to find out if this is the culprit in your flight to loose weight have more energy and be at peace in your world is called The Functional Adrenal Stress test.

Help is out there, don't sweat it, I know, from personal experience, there is hope. It starts with the Functional Adrenal Stress Test. Its easy to do with a little bit of saliva, and it will tell you everything you need to know to get you started on the right track to a better feeling and looking body.
