Luscious Lip Gloss : How to Make?

Aside from your lipstick, another basic beauty tool is your lip gloss that can be applied to your lips to make a glossy shine. It makes your lips look fuller and smooth. There are lots of pretty and flavorful lip glosses available that you can buy. But, wouldn’t it be nicer if you can make your own in different flavors that you really like? Why not, it can save you a lot of money and you can do this with easy simple steps.

• If you want a cranberry lip gloss just do this procedure. Mix 1 tsp honey and 1 tbsp of almond oil. Put in 10-12 fresh cranberries. Place all ingredients in a microwave container and heat for about 2 minutes. After taking out the mixture, make sure to grind the cranberries then stir well. Strain excess cranberries, and then place the liquefied mix into an air tight container. You can now use your cranberry flavored lip gloss lip gloss.

• For a vanilla lip gloss flavor, you can mix 1 tsp of petroleum jelly, 1 tsp Aloe Vera, 1½ tsp of coconut oil and ½ tsp of vanilla extract. Heat everything in the microwave for about 2 minutes then pour contents into a container. Let it cool down before putting in a lip gloss container.

• For a honey citrus flavored lip gloss, you can mix 8 tsp of sweet almond oil and 2 tsp of beeswax. Place in microwave for about 2 minutes. Then, add in 1 tsp honey and 5 drops of citrus. Make a quick whisk of the mixture lasting about 1 minute for good mix.

Another way to make lip gloss is to mix ¼ cup each of almond oil and bees wax. Melt the beeswax in a double boiler and then slowly add in the almond oil. Then get a vitamin E capsule and cut its end and squirt it into the mixture. This makes your lip gloss extra special as vitamin E helps moisten and moisturize the lips. This is as good as your natural lip gloss that you can put on your lips.

But, if you want to add in some flavors, you can make use of natural oils like peppermint, vanilla, lavender and others. Just mix any one of these into the original mixture and you’ll get your favorite flavors.

You can also use your lipstick to make lip gloss. All you have to do is to mix ½ tsp of your lipstick (you can easily scrape a good amount) and 4 tbsp of petroleum jelly and heat in the microwave for about 25 seconds. Add your flavor extract like almond, strawberry, banana and other extracts to this mixture. Cool it down and place into lip gloss container.

The fun part in making your lip gloss is that is it homemade by you and you decide to customize it on your own. Don’t hesitate to experiment with flavors. Just remember to have a good balance of your mixtures and flavors without one overpowering the other. You can use flavors by using cool-aid, fruit drink powdered mix, chocolate powdered mix, jello, peppermint oil, vanilla and a lot more. Lastly, always place your lip gloss in the fridge to help it last longer. A cool lip gloss from the fridge is always an effective way to keep your lips look soft and luscious all the time.
